MALAYSIA-JAPAN ENVIRONMENT WEEK | 15 – 17 OCTOBER 2025 | HALL 6C KL CONVENTION CENTRE
In recent years, countries in the Asian region have witnessed a steady increase in population and economic expansion, accompanied by accelerated urbanization. This has led to a substantial increase in needs for sustainable infrastructure. Accelerated development has caused concerns on the adverse impacts on the environment and the increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. International community increasingly recognizes the unprecedented triple global crisis of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss as well as social challenges. There is a pressing need and emerging opportunities for cooperation on environmental infrastructure, technology and business for sustainable development, including pollution control, waste management, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
In this context, Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) in cooperation with relevant organizations in will organize an event, entitled “Malaysia-Japan Environment Week”, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 15th to 17th October 2025.
The objective of this event is to facilitate understanding on the environmental and related challenges and identifying potential opportunities for cooperation between Malaysia and Japan in the growing green business, with a view to building a decarbonized and resilient society. The event includes:
- an opening session,
- a plenary session,
- a thematic session with a series of seminars and business pitch,
- business networking and exhibition, and
- side events.
