9 October 2019, Kuala Lumpur – The International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) kicks off the first day of its landmark tenth year anniversary with sold out halls featuring more than 300 exhibitors from over 35 countries, once again positioning it as ASEAN’s most successful green technology, business and innovation platform.

Organised by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) and co-organised by Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia), IGEM 2019 is themed “Innovating Sustainability” to anchor all innovation on sustainability and adopt sustainability across all industries to ensure a promising future of climate stability coupled with economic prosperity. Yang Berhormat Puan Yeo Bee Yin, Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change said, “The sold out exhibition floor goes to show that IGEM is indeed a powerful platform that has successfully inspired impactful climate action and sustainable economic development. Furthermore, this year’s 10 th edition is set to lead the way in innovating sustainability by convening leading innovators, insightful speakers and policy influencers from across the world.”

“IGEM 2019 will host leading conglomerates, innovators and entrepreneurs who will showcase cutting edge technologies, products and services, to inspire wider adoption of sustainable options across industries,” she added.

With strong international participation in the form of country and regional pavilions from the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Korea’s Green Energy Institute and the High Commission of Canada, IGEM 2019 is set to boost new partnerships and encourage the adoption of sustainable solutions.

IGEM 2019 has secured sponsorship from Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Cypark Resources Berhad and UEM Edgenta Berhad, featuring returning exhibitors such as PETRONAS, Hua Wei Technologies, Jinko Solar, JA Solar, LONGI Solar, Hanwha Q CELLS and DAIKIN Malaysia, showcasing their innovative sustainable technologies.

IGEM 2019 features Malaysian corporations, multi-national companies and international organisation from across seven key sectors of renewable energy, energy efficiency, transport, waste, water, manufacturing and agriculture, exhibiting their innovative products and services to over 35,000 anticipated trade visitors.

To foster new partnerships and help entrepreneurs explore new opportunities in the low carbon economy, there will be multiple business networking sessions convened by IGEM 2019’s strategic partner, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) and business matching partner, the Malaysia External Trade Development (MATRADE) over the three days of the event, with the overall event targeting RM2.8 billion in business leads.

Over the three days, IGEM will convene 10 conferences, starting with the “KL Towards Low Carbon Society” forum by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, the Inaugural Climate Change Conversations Forum by Shell Malaysia, the International Urban Sustainability & Green Building Conference 2019 (IUSGBC) by Malaysian Green Building Council (MGBC), and the Nordic Forum on Circular Economy and Energy. IGEM 2019 is currently being held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre till 11 th October 2019 and is open to trade visitors as well as the general public.
